Monica Canilao makes some incredible hodge-podge installations dealing with the decay of cultural heritage.

I just can’t stop.  It was on repeat my entire vacation, and still now that I’m home.

Weddings!  and Trips!  and Great Old Friends! and Going Home!

Today sounds like this to me.   [Peter and the Wolf - Bonsai Tree]

Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre’s collaborative photography work of Detroit is jaw-dropping in both its beauty and its desolation.

Thanks to my amazing lady friend Cinnamon, I now have the wandering blues again.  This video makes me wanna hop a jet right back to Europe where I could wander into an Irish pub only to discover an all-bar sing-a-long occurring, throw blood oranges at Ivrea locals, attend Milan Fashion Week, and get scrubbed naked by middle-aged Moroccan women all in the same month.

Great Ghosts by Mount Eerie

Biking home after a quiet day alone in the shop, I put this song on repeat.  His lyrics are so raw and aggressive, yet they make me feel content.  Accept the great ghosts.  Don’t push them away or punish them or reach out to them.

I listened to him sing, I gathered my ghosts and gave them my lecture, bid them away, I pleaded and cried / there’s no room in my life for you or your howling, and thought about how I am finally, finally, finally over that.  I’m an open door for my great ghosts.  In fact, I kind of like their presence.

Take me here please.

Take me here please.

These days I’ve been pretty into installations by Sarah Moli Newton Applebaum.

Supermarket Sarah is someone you should know about.

This rad lady got sick of her day job one day and decided to start making “walls” in her living room.  These walls were basically curated displays of things (art, vintage clothing, random objects) for sale.  She started taking photos of the walls, putting them on her website, and then tearing them down to make another.  The Supermarket Sarah project has grown into something pretty huge and awesome in London.  She has created and installed walls for major retailers, and has guest “wall-makers” curate their own collection of sellable merchandise.   I think this idea is pretty awesome, and I think you should know about it.  Check out more walls here.

I was given malleable hand forms as a gift today.  Handtlers time!

Oh, holy goodness.  Etsuko Ichikawa’s molten glass painting is so mesmerizing. More here.
